East Coast Vacations

This is the THEME PAGE of the site and
is general in nature, giving a nice over
view.
PLEASE SEE THE INDEX AT THE LEFT AND

ON A SPECIFIC EASTCOAST VACATION SITE.
Also note the "give aways" on this page
further down.
East Coast Vacations offer the individual, couple, or entire
family an infinte variety of vacation experiences in a wide
range of climates and environments. Your Eastcoast vacation can
be enjoyed in a four season environment in New England and
walking the beaches of Cape Cod four seasons a year, staying in
rustic cabins or luxury vacation condos. Cape Cod Vacations
offer a true wide variety of experiences and being northernmost
of our list, this is why we start here. One can study
history, go fishing, visit a wide variety of beaches
(preferably in the summer). Or you can essentially be in
tropics year round at Key West.

Moving just a little bit south, New Jersey
vacation potenial is also endless and ranges from exciting
casino vacations which is probably not a typical eastcoast
vacation, to again beach vacations in quaint cottages just
blocks from the beach, to luxury condos beachside. The ocean
dominates New Jersey vacations, but Atlantic City nightlife and
casinos offer many attractions. One can book their
New Jersey vacation easily online with many online vacation
booking firms. Going further south are Myrtle Beach Vacations
and our site started out just talking about this as one of our
favorite areas. How can you not just love Myrlte Beach
Golf! But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
Skipping down the coast, one comes to the ever popular east
coast vacation area of Virginia Beach. If one is willing to
venture inland just a little bit, we could include
historic Williamsburg which is rich in colonial history, and
also offers a wide variety of lodging, particularly
timeshare condos. These time share units are often available
for rent to non owners and many are adjacent to golf courses.
Within a few minutes drive of both Virginia Beach and
Williamsburg lies the Busch Gardens theme park which is full of
fun for kids of all ages eight to eighty. In fact, we recommend
making a Williamsburg timeshare the center of your vacation
here because you can tour Williamsburg, have easy access to the
Virginia Beach Beaches, and then also spend a day at historic
Jamestown, and then yet another touring the naval facilities
and harbor at Norfolk. Here you can visit and get on one of the
few battleships and see naval ships ranging from cargo to
aircraft carriers.
If you really want to stretch the East Coast vacation
definition, you could include Monticello in a few hours
drive to Richmond, and many of the resorts offer daytrips
to D.C.
Now we skip down the coast a bit more, but there are
vacation resorts, cabins, and individual gems all along and
these range from pricey private islands to quaint beach cabins
with wrap around porches. But we'll stick to the better known
destinations, and as we go south, east coast golf begins to
dominate with the well known Myrtle Beach. MyrtleBeach and
adjacent towns such as Calabash, North Myrle are some of our
favorites and golf can be enjoyed nearly year round. Spring and
fall are the best seasons as winter can be cold and wet and
summer oppresingly hot. The Myrtle Beach boardwalk and large
shopping and amusement center dominates this area, and plenty
of air conditioning is avaialble in the major attractions which
include the Ripley Believe it Or Not Museum and a national
aquarium. Golf Vacation Specialists can arrange complete
packages with tee times, carts, and even other players,
and golf discounts are available on line and off line. It's
also a good place to shop for your golf clothing and golf
togs; golf accessories, and even a golf cart to be delivered
back to your home course.. all because of the heavy
competition.
Of course Myrtle beach is great for its swimwear shops and
bathing suit deals, as well as beach toys like umnbrellsas.
Staying in the Eastern Coast, we also can go south to Kitty
Hawk where the wright brothers flew, and we can
participate in major kite flying.
An EastCoast Vacation can Be full of History
in Charleston, SC and Savannah
We don't mean to omit Charleston and Savannah, and we've had
a great vacation at Kiawah Island just south of Charleston.
Here fantastic tours of old Southern Mansions compete with
again golf. And of course, this is the heart of some of the
best plantation touring in the country. You can see the history
where the national anthem was inspired. Try to avoid July and
August if possible due to heat. You can reserve single family
Kiawah homes as well as condos and appartments, both beach side
and within a few hundred yards. Don't look for a boardwalk or
nitelife here however. This is the place to go for quiet and
romantic beachside walks at nite and privacy.
Passing through Savannah we come to Jacksonville, and again,
many opportunities. We like to stay at Amelia Island, and
recommend it. Book ahead for your Amelia experience. Then press
on down I-95, driving very carefully, and ideally being there
in late April or early May, beating both the heat and the
hurricane season. You have endless choices. Your author lives
in Melbourne and we suggest not only the beaches here, but plan
your vacation during one of the space launches. The shuttle is
the cream of the crop to watch, but with only two ships flying,
the opportunities are far and few between. But there are nearly
monthly launches of space craft carrying satelliltes and other
research. Take a day and tour the NASA space facilities
there.
Of course if you are a
NASCAR fan or ride a Harley, you know we skipped over
Daytona Beach which features in March the stock car
championship Daytona 500 and you can book your rooms
and condos with the Daytona Beach tourism office online;
You may want to approach bike week a little more
cautiously unless you yourself are a "biker".
We're nearing the end of our East Coast
major vacation sites, but would have you first stop at West
Palm Beach and tour the area and see how some of the
millioniares live. Plan for a Sunday Brunch at the Breakers.. a
once in a lifetime experience at $60+ per person but worth it.
Take a nice evening to walk around Citi Place and take the
horse drawn tour of the area after dark. Then get
up and drive on down to Miami.
Miami is like no other city anywhere! It would take a whole
nother web site to describe it. Maybe we will .. on anothe web
site.. Miami Vacations.
Lastly.. let's finish our EastCoast Vacation with an over
ocean drive to Key West. Hemminway, the old man and the sea,
quaint towns, etc. But in season be sure to pre-reserve your
accommodations. There's not that many open vacancies and it's a
long drive back if you don't have any place to stay except your
car.
Hopefully this verbal tour has opened your eyes to some of
the possibilities! Enjoy
