cocoa beach fl vacation
A cocoa beach fl vacation is a definite part of the East Coast Vacation experience in Central Fla. Catch an exciting space rocket launch and more.
While Disney and many other (water) theme parks can do a great job of simulating a beach, there's nothing quite like the ocean itself, and the central fla coastline gives many choices. A cocoa beach vacation home rental gives you an option to experience the ocean, be within a few minutes drive of the cruise terminals at Port Canaveral, and within about a 80 minute drive of the Magic Kingdom.
At Cocoa Beach you can experience one of the area's largest piers where you can just sit and watch dolphins (and occasionally possibly a shark), or you can be active and join the literally hundreds of fishermen in fishing from the Cocoa Beach pier.

Cocoa Beach is also home of one of the world's largest surf shops and you can buy all kinds of beach surfing equipment, as well as the latest swim wear.
Cocoa Beach night life includes disco bars, jazz bars, real active young set restaurants, "fine dining", and about everything in between.
One of the main attractions is spring break, and the other being a place to watch shuttle launches from Cape Canaveral. Shuttle launches don't come around as often as they used to before losing two shuttles but the base still launches an impressive amount of commercial, military, and experimental rockets and a rocket shot at any time is impressive. The local Brevard county paper publishes these rocket launch schedules daily. If you want to see a shuttle launch however and require a hotel to be in the area, be sure and book it early.
While the coca beach vacation features the beach highly, the entire area is full of things to do as there are two rivers (one is actually more like a large lake or estuary) just inland, and all kinds of excursions on the Banana River are available to do dolphin watching, see manatees, and do other things such as air boat rides through the wetlands and areas on the side where you can get to see alligators up close and very personal!
The entire area, Brevard County, is full of interesting tourist attractions and the residents themselves have a wide variety of things to choose from including top notch theater (King Theater, Melbourne), and "normal chain store mall shopping" to quaint small villages with antiques, specialty shops, and restaurants of every type.
Plan your vacation here in Central Fla and if you are "Disney'ed out", come on over to Brevard and the Space Coast, the great NASA museums at the Cape and all! See where history has been made.
