The City Market in Savannah Georgia

The City Market in Savannah Georgia is a collection of art
galleries, restaurants, and entertainment venues located in the
old downtown section of Savannah at Jefferson and West St
Julian Street.
The market was founded in 1755 by local farmers and
fishermen as a way to sell the products they had grown or
caught. The City Market has survived fires, hurricanes, and the
wrecking ball throughout its 250 plus year existence. Today,
locals and tourist alike visit the market district to relax and
unwind.
Art Galeries:
The City Market boasts 12 art galleries. Dozens of local
artists sell their creations and in many of the galleries, you
can see the artists at work.
Restaurants:
Several restaurants and cafes are located in the City
Market. Many of the eateries have indoor and outdoor seating.
You can find handmade candies and even Italian Gelato. If you
are interested in pizza, try Vinnie Van Go Gos, which has been

While in the shops, you can find anything from fine hand made
cigars to fossils, minerals, and semi-precious stones from
around the world.
Entertainment:
You can visit Savannah Blues, which offers live music
nightly, or catch a horse drawn carriage ride through the
streets of old town Savannah.
