The Best Time to Be At
Disneyland/Disney World
Going to Disneyland/Disney
World can be your vacation of a lifetime. As children, you may have had a phase in which you yearned to go to
this magical place. Now, you have all the opportunity to go and stay however long you
please!
Getting the Best Out Of
It
If you are spending your
vacation with your family or friends, you will want to have everything run as smoothly as possible. You may need
to know what may be the best time for you to visit Disneyland/Disney World.
The Parks Busiest
Days
There are seasons in which
Disney Parks are very busy. It depends on your preference on whether to go to Disney World when there are a lot
of people or not. If you believe that the more the merrier, then here are the times that you should go to the
park. However, if you are not much of a crowd person, then these will be the times that you should avoid going
to the park.
The busiest time of the year
is the busiest time for the park, which is Christmas Day. The numbers of people that flood the park gates seem
to never cease. The park will get the same number of crowds from Christmas day onward through New Year’s Day as
the summer.
Thanksgiving season is good
time for the park to attract more people. Crowds peak during the whole Thanksgiving weekend. The weekend
holidays make Disneyland crowded like President's Day weekend and Memorial Day weekend.
Expect to see a lot of college
students in the month of April throughout the College Spring Break. A lot of people go to the park during the 2
weeks around Easter. Lastly, you will get to see a lot of families and students with their friends making the
best out of the heat during June, July and August.
Not Going With the
Crowd
If you are not much of the
crowd person, and like the park when there are a tolerable amount of people, here are the dates that you should
consider going.
Surprisingly, the week once
Thanksgiving is done attracts low levels of crowd. Additionally, due to the Christmas season shopping hype,
there are only a few that go to the park during the whole week before Christmas arrives. If you are not too busy
with your preparations for Christmas then that whole week before will be the best time to
go.
Park gates are crowd free
during November up until Thanksgiving Day. September and October offer you a Disney vacation with fewer crowds.
Starting January 4 up to the 1st week of February is a great time for you to go, along with the week after
Easter up to the early days of June.
Weather
Issues
Having bad weather during your
Disney vacation can really be a bummer. This is why scheduling your trip means you should take into
consideration the weather. Pursuing the trip when it’s too hot, or too rainy and cold will likely ruin the whole
trip for you, so going in average weather is the best option.
Months that offer you a
tolerable average daily temperature will be: November, February, March and April. October is good however it is
still hurricane season. There are still some chances for rainfall.
If you like it warm, the best
months to go will be May, June, July, August and September. Accordingly, mildest months will be December and
January.
You should remember that there
is still some risk of rainfall because the parks location is in an area that has a tropical
climate.
Your Disneyland/World Ticket
Your Disneyland/World Ticket -
Why It's Important
Being able to visit Disneyland
is like a magical dream come true for many. However, before you get this dream going, you will have to return to
reality and realize that you need a ticket before you can start your adventure.
There are different kinds of
tickets along with different features. Nevertheless, the importance of your Disneyland ticket does not stop
after you have entered the park gates. Your ticket will be your best friend during your Disney vacation, other
than your companions.
Why Is It Important That You
Buy A Legitimate One?
There are various ways to get
discounts or even free Walt Disney World passes. Nevertheless, there are still people who prefer to deal via the
non-legitimate way and end up being ripped off.
Partially Used
Tickets
To avoid being ripped off, you
should refrain from buying tickets that are partially used. To tell you the truth, there is really no way for
you to know whether the ticket being sold to you is still valid or not, unless you try them out at the gates.
Finger Print
Scans
Additionally, park tickets are
non-transferable tickets. They use a high technology based system in which they take note of the finger print of
the person using the ticket. If a person just used the pass and is trying to sell their pass to you, it’s
impossible for you to use their tickets.
Online
Scams
Purchasing your tickets from a
Web site selling low priced tickets can pose a risk. Most of these sites are actually scams. The tickets they
are selling are likely to be frauds. Additionally, buying tickets from eBay or Craigslist can give you the same
high risk of being scammed.
Why Is It Important To Keep
Your Ticket?
Your park tickets will not
only be used for your entrance. You will use them for park rides. You should take good care of your ticket while
on your trip. Do not get so overwhelmed with the trip that you forget your tickets. It is vital that you keep
your tickets in a very secure place to avoid losing them.
After paying for your Walt
Disney World tickets, never forget to photocopy its reverse side with the magnetic stripe. This is imperative,
if you really want to make sure that your tickets are secure.
If you meet with bad luck and
you lose your tickets, the only way to have them replaced is to have a copy of the info on the back of your
ticket. Those numbers, dates and letters you see on a number of spots on the back of your ticket will help
management replace your tickets.
Although it is stated in the
tickets that the management is not responsible if you lose your ticket, they are still kind enough to replace
them. It is important that you can provide the information that is needed. If not you do not have this
information, you will have to buy new tickets.
If you buy your ticket at the
park gate, it is helpful if you save your receipt; doing this can be helpful if ever you lose your tickets. This
is only applicable if you bought the tickets from Disney. If you got them from a non-Disney source, your receipt
will not be of any help if you lose them during your trip.
Disneyland/World Special Events
Disneyland/World Special
Events - Make It Personal
Here’s a little secret. If
you’ve had dreams of having a Disney Princess Wedding as a kid, it’s about time that you stop dreaming and make
it into reality. Yes, it is possible for you to have that kind of magical wedding, if you wish. In fact, not
only could you have your wedding the Disney way but even celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other special
occasions too!
Here are the basics of what
you have to know in celebrating your special events, the Disney World way!
Booking a
Wedding
If you plan on having a
wedding at Disneyland/World, you will need to get a program called Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings. This is the
parks official program for weddings, vow renewals, commitment and ceremonies that can take place in Disney’s
theme parks, resort hotels or Walt Disney World Resort.
Whether you will be having a
wedding, vow renewal or commitment ceremony, it doesn’t really matter. As far as the management is concerned
these are basically interchangeable.
You could choose from three
packages: Escape Collection, Couture Collection and Wishes Collection. These programs mainly vary in the number
of allowed guests, customizations and of course, price.
For you to schedule a wedding,
it is important that you have already picked out a date. This is because you would have to reserve that date
prior to the big day. In fact you should reserve it 8-12 months before your desired date. There are places that
can be reserved 12 months prior your wedding date such as Walt Disney World Theme Park, Atlantic Dance Hall in
Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, or Ariel’s at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Venues other than mentioned should be
reserved 8 months prior your big day.
You can visit Disney's Fairy
Tale Weddings offices and talk to a wedding consultant any time from 8AM-6PM, Mondays through Fridays. You can
visit their Web site at Disneyweddings.go.com to get more details on their packages and samples of their wedding
videos and pictures.
Birthday Party
Booking
My Disneyland Birthday Party
is the official program that you have to sign up for if you wish to have a birthday party at Disneyland. Just
like weddings you will have to book your celebration date. Scheduling and party detail planning can be done by
going to the City Hall or Plaza Inn. You can contact the parks Guest Relations information kiosks or call them.
Booking should be done 30 days in advance so that you will have no difficulties with your
date.
Un-booked birthday
celebrations are possible. If you are merely going to the park to celebrate your child’s birthday, all you have
to do is tell the server of whatever Disneyland restaurant you are in about the special occasion. They can offer
you a special add-on to your meal such as a birthday cake. You can opt to have birthday hats and goodie bags in
the package, if you wish so.
Have A Picnic At The Happiest
Place On Earth!
Looking for the perfect picnic
on a unique location? Do it at Disneyland! You can schedule picnics for 100-1000 guests at Disneyland and up to
17,500 guests for a picnic in Disney’s California Adventure Park. The best thing is that it is offered all year
round!
Services include letting you
choose to have fully-catered meals. You can even have pixie dust sprinkled all over the place, if you wish. The
venue in which you want to have the picnic can be customized. From playful to elegantly formal, it’s all your
choice. You can have special appearances from Disney characters or some other forms of entertainment.
Grad Night
Celebration
Need a cool way to end your
high school graduation? Disney’s Grad Night bash is for you. Here you get 6 hours of after-dark fun. Ride Splash
Mountain, Space Mountain, and all other thrill rides throughout the night. It’s a night to remember, so why not
make it a magical one?
You can contact the Grad Night
Sales Team and discuss with them the date that you wish to book and receive more details of what is included in
the package. Their office is available from 8AM-5PM, Mondays through Fridays.
Disneyland/World Hotels
Disneyland/World
Hotels
For most people, spending a
day at Disneyland/World is not enough. To get the most out of their vacation some visitors will stay for up to a
whole week or two! Some visitors go park hopping to different Disney parks and this can be difficult
accomplished in one day.
Finding a hotel will not be a
problem for you. Other than having a number of local hotels in the area to accommodate you, Disney is ready to
take care of your lodging needs. They do not want you to ruin your magical vacation with them by staying in some
random hotel in the area. They have built their own hotels, just to cater to your needs!
There are a number of hotels
that Disney owns to accommodate their park visitors or simply accommodate people who are in need of a nice place
to stay. These hotels are different from one another in relation to style, rates, theme, services and of course,
prices. Here are some of the essentials that each Disneyland Hotel has to offer.

state-of-the-art health club. You can choose from over 481 rooms. Many of them have stunning views. They have

business center.

decorated with an early 20th Century Arts & Crafts feel, making them look grand and elegant. They have very
spacious rooms compared to other Disney owned hotels.
Other Disney

In Walt Disney World, there
are other less popular resorts such as: Pop Century Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Music Resort,
All-Star Sports Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, Port Orleans Resort - French
Quarter, Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary
Resort, Polynesian Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club Resort, Old Key West Resort, Saratoga Springs Resort
& Spa, Hilton Head Island Resort, and Vero Beach Resort.
Why Go For a Disney
Hotel
There are a number of reasons
why you should opt for a Disneyland Hotel. First, you get the benefit of being able to re-enter the parks. If
you have had a pretty tiring day, you can rest for an hour or so before returning to the park. Staying at a Disney owned hotel would give you the advantage of returning to
the park. It also gives you the advantage of being at the best proximity to the park.
They have special services for
your children like babysitting and a children’s activity area. You receive a free ride in their shuttle going to
the park and back.
Disneyland/World Baby Center

Vacations with a Toddler
Having a Disney Family trip is
truly something that can shape your family’s memories. This is most especially true if your kids are old enough
to remember that they’re in Disneyland/World. Years after you may hear them talk about how magical your trip was
and how they want to go back there again. Nevertheless, fun should not only be for your kids and teens. You
should also ensure that your toddlers have their own dose of fun.
The good thing about Disney
management is that they make sure the whole family gets their own share of magic, whether toddlers or seniors.
They have services that cater to any kind of population. If you think bringing along your toddler would only
mean endless tantrum sessions, think again.
Here are some ways that you
can make your Disneyland vacation a toddler friendly one!
Magical
Beginnings
Magical Beginnings is an
official program from Disney for toddlers. It is specially designed to answer your little kids’ needs. This
includes entertainment and other activities that your small one can safely and enjoyably
do.
If you’re thinking why a
program like this is important, just imagine your baby riding Space Mountain. You really can’t expect him/her to
enjoy a ride this ride? Of course, your toddler wouldn’t even be allowed to get on those kinds of rides. This is
why they have special programs just for toddlers to enjoy.
The program offers live shows
that star their favorite Disney Characters. They cater recreational activities tailored for a young child's
pace. You will be informed of the different fun dining choices
available that little ones will definitely love!
Attractions
To make your vacation more
enjoyable, you can visit a number of attractions that are considered to be toddler friendly. One of which is The
First 50 Magical Years, where you could learn about the history of Disneyland. Here you will see a preview of
different sights and attractions that were never built.
You can go to Disney’s
Railroad and visit Mickey’s Toon Town. Mickey’s Toon Town is where you can find all the characters that your
kids want to see. Chip and Dale’s Tree house is also situated here. This is another toddler must see attraction.
Your kids can enter and play in the big redwood tree house for as long as he/she wants!
Entertainment
For some entertainment, you
can visit the very home of Mickey Mouse! This is situated in Mickey’s Toon Town. You will get a full tour of his
home. You can see how he lives, his appliances and artifacts. The best thing is your child may also get to meet
Mickey Mouse in person after the tour!
You can watch playhouse Disney
Live on Stage. This would definitely keep your child entertained as they sing along and dance while watching the
show. You can see appearances from the Mickey Mouse Club, Disney Little Einstein’s, Handy Manny and other
Playhouse Disney stars.
If you have a little princess
in hand, then it is a must that you visit the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire. Let her fairytale dreams come true
as she enters the world of happily ever after. Storytelling, arts and crafts, making sparkling crowns and regal
ceremonies are just some of the activities that will make your child feel like a real Disney
princess.
Dining
If you want a fun place to
eat, Goofy's Kitchen is just the place! Here you get to meet Goofy and have a fun filled meal with the whole
family. Kids can enjoy Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, Goofy’s Hot Chocolate Cake, Peanut butter & Jelly Pizzas
and a lot more!
For some ice cream treats,
Bur-r-r Bank Ice Cream would be the right place. Here your child can choose from an array of scrumptious ice
cream flavors and confections that make ice cream eating truly special.
Shopping
Specialized shopping for
toddlers can be done at Engine Ear Toys. This toy shop has the coolest toys around along with other Disney
merchandise. Another store to visit is It’s A Small World Toy Shop, where dolls are the highlight of the shop.
If your kids love Pooh then it’s a must that you visit Pooh's Corner and shop amongst the Pooh
merchandise.
What is a FastPass?
What Is a
FastPass?
Disneyland is one of the most
popular attractions that people from all over the world love going to. In fact, there are some that even travel
halfway around the world just to get there. You can expect that not a day goes by that the park is empty.
Due to the number of people
visiting the park, long lines are always expected. Disney’s management has devised a way to solve this
problem.
The
Resolution
To help reduce long lines for
popular attractions, Disney launched an innovative system in 1999. This system is called the FastPass. From the
first day it was used up until now, it has been very successful.
This pass is available to
everybody. You do not need to have a special ticket to get one. As long as you have a ticket to the park, then
you are entitled to a FastPass. This pass is not to be bought. It is already included with your admission fee.
If a stranger approaches you and tries to sell you a pass, decline it.
The
Mechanics
If you see a FastPass
Attraction, you will notice 2 clocks. One will inform you on how long the wait is for entrances. The other will
tell you the time that you come back if you have a FastPass ticket already.
Basically, FastPass is a
system that can reserve you a ride while you go do something else. In this way, you will not have to waste your
magical park time waiting in long lines. Once you get a FastPass for a certain attraction, you can go to other
attractions. You can shop. You can eat. Do whatever you want to do. You still get to see the attraction as long
as you go back at the specified time.
How to Get a FastPass
Ticket
At the entrance of an
attraction, you can spot the FastPass machine for that attraction. Approach the FastPass machine and present
your admission ticket. Insert the card in the card slot. Do not force the card inside. Your FastPass ticket will
be out in no time!
What Is Written In Your
FastPass?
On your FastPass ticket, you
will see some encoded information. Take note of these important details. The ticket will indicate the time frame
that you can go back to that attraction. That is the period of time that you can return for the ride/attraction.
Do not forget that there are
some attractions that have a window of only 10-15 minutes, like the Little Mermaid Show and Honey I Shrunk the
Audience. It is better for you to just wait or simply stay within the area, so that you will not be late when
your window comes around.
What To Do When It’s Your
Window
As soon as your FastPass
window or time frame arrives, it is important that you go back to the attraction. Go to the FastPass holders’
line. Make sure that you have secured your ticket and have your FastPass ready. Show it to the Cast Member.
While waiting in line, a Cast Member will actually get your FASTPASS ticket.
Important Things to
Remember
There are some important
things that you should remember when using FastPass. If you have a FastPass, this doesn’t entitle you to bring
your crew with you. They will need to get a FastPass ticket too. Nevertheless, getting a FastPass ticket can be
done by one person only, as long as they have the admission tickets for everyone in the group.
If you have a baby or a
toddler that came into the park for free, there is no need to get them a FastPass. You cannot go FastPass
Hopping to different attractions. All ticketing machines issuing the pass are linked together. A machine will
not issue you another, if you have not used the previous pass that you just received for a different
attraction.

Traveling to Disneyland/World
Traveling To
Disneyland/World
Disneyland is one of the most
popular places that people from all over the world want to see. It is one of those places that people considered
traveling half-way across the world to visit. If you want to embark on a Disney adventure, here are some of the
things you have to know on traveling and how you can get there.
By Car or By
Plane?
There are generally two ways
in which you can reach Disneyland/World. One is by car and the other is the plane. With gas prices going up,
traveling by plane is thought by majority to be a practical choice. Here are the basics of arriving either
way.
Going There Via
Plane
You can arrive in one of the
five commercial airports located in Los Angeles area. These include: Los Angeles International (LAX), Long Beach
(LGB), Burbank (BUR), John Wayne/Orange County (SNA), and Ontario (ONT). Disneyland is closer to Orange County
however a lot of park goers still opt for LAX. LAX has more airlines serving it and more flights scheduled.
You should consider San Diego
if you’re planning on having a short period of your vacation there. It is best that you get a map and see how
the different locations are related to Disneyland.
Once you arrive at an airport
in Los Angeles, it is easy to get a shuttle to Disneyland. You will encounter local shuttle companies such as:
Golden West Express and Super Shuttle. It is better if you make a reservation in advance. You can get one at the
curbside in larger airports.
You can find a car rental
service in the airport and drive. If Disneyland is your only destination this can be pricey and unnecessary.
The Disneyland Resort Express
bus is operated by Grayline Anaheim. It runs from John Wayne or LAX Airport to the park. It leaves every 30
minutes. You will need to make a reservation 48 hours advance. If you are traveling in a group a rental car is
suggested. This can be much cheaper than going for a shuttle.
Going There By
Car
You can get to Disneyland by
car via I-5 in Anaheim. Take the exit at either Disneyland or Harbor Blvd. It is suggested that you have a good
map in hand. Another suggestion is to check out traffic reports first before setting out to save time.
You can also enter the address
of Disneyland to the car’s GPS system. The GPS system would bring you to the Parks front gate. You can see signs
that lead you to the parking areas. Follow these signs so you do not get lost.
Hassle Free
Parking
Parking at Disneyland is very
efficient. As long as you know how to follow signs and directions from friendly staff members you won’t go
wrong. If someone in your party has problems with mobility, just inform the parking attendant at the entrance.
They will provide you with special parking near the entrance or a van will bring you to the entrance.
Coming From San
Diego
If you are coming from San
Diego, you can opt for a bus service going to Anaheim; provided by Viator.com. There are tour companies that
offer transportation and ticket packages for Disneyland from San Diego. They can cost you as much as $40 per
ticket with no chances for discounts. There can be a time limit. It may be better to rent a car instead. There
are companies like Fox Rent-a-Car in the area that you can call to get one.
Hotel to
Disney
If you’re in your hotel going
to Disneyland will not be a problem. From the hotel, there are a number of ways to get to the park such as the
monorail, free shuttle services, and trolleys. If your hotel is near enough, you can even
walk!

Disneyland/World Concierge Service
Disneyland/World Concierge
Service
Having a vacation at
Disneyland is not all about scary rides, fun activities and spending your day park hopping. Unknown to many,
this magical place can pamper and spoil you as your heart wishes. They can give you the relaxation you need
which is your primary goal in having a vacation.
Not Your Ordinary
Pampering
The pampering you can receive
from your stay at Disneyland is not the same as you can receive from a world class spa. Nevertheless, Disney
staff will make you feel relaxed and special with the same amount of care.
How to Get Some Disney
Pampering?
Although you are pampered from
the very moment you set foot on Disneyland, you can receive a little extra pampering by booking a room in one of
Disney’s Hotels and Resorts. There are a number of hotels and resorts to choose from. They have different themes
and environment designs, however they all have world class Disney service and hospitality.
Once you booked into a room
for the duration of your stay, speak to the hotel concierge. Inform him/her that you would like to upgrade your
room to include Concierge Services.
Be Ready For Good
Changes
Once you opt for the Concierge
service, you should be ready for some changes. There is no need to worry. These changes are good and can benefit
you more than you expect. This service will make you feel like a VIP, even if it’s your first time visiting the
park.
Room
Changes
The Concierge Service will
transform a regular room to a more special kind of room. Although there is no literal change in the environment
or physical aspects of your room, the service is what matters most. This service will be extra special. You will
receive free bottles of water, sodas, coffee and tea during your stay. Additionally, you can check in and out of
the hotel faster and avoid waiting and long lines by simply going to the Concierge Counter. They will provide
you with a nightly turndown service.
The
Lounge
The next highlight of having a
Concierge service would be the lounge. You have full access to the special Concierge lounge. In fact, most
people think that this is where all the special pampering officially starts!
Every morning, you can go to
the lounge and indulge yourself with the continental breakfast buffet. It is possible for you to bring your
breakfast to your room. The lounge can be your favorite spot during the afternoon. The concierge service
provides a special spot for children where they watch Disney videos. As the children are entertained with Disney
videos, you can treat yourself to a little wine tasting.
Different Perks, Different
Services
There are still other perks
that you can receive from a concierge service. The perks depend on the resort or hotel that you are staying in.
If you haven’t booked for a hotel ask the customer service hotline about the Concierge Services in different
hotels and see which hotel will suit your idea of relaxation and pampering.
For instance, if you stay at
the Innkeeper's Club, a concierge accommodation includes servings of chocolate-covered strawberries, milk and
cookies for your kids every night. If you are staying at Disney’s Beach Club Resort or Yacht Club Resort, the
concierge benefits are steamed clams and braised beef samplings, along with other dishes. You can receive the
privilege of booking the Albatross Treasure Cruise for your kids.
At the Grand Floridian Resort
and Spa, wine tasting events and free tea parties are held for concierge users.
Food
Needs
If you have special dietary
needs and you only have special foods, having the concierge service is definitely for you. They will make sure
that your special needs are met. They will go the distance just to service you.
Avoiding Long Lines
Avoiding Long
Lines
Disneyland is one of the most
popular attractions in the world. They bring tens of thousands of people to their gates every day. Like any
other amusement park in the world you have to prepare to serve your time in line. Nevertheless, there are still some things that you can do in order to avoid
long lines during your Disneyland visit. Here are some of them.
Arrive At the Park
Early
As the saying goes, the Early
Bird Gets the Worm, in this case your worm would be the comfort of not having to wait in extremely long lines
and seeing most of the park while others are still stuck in line. Beating the crowd is definitely effective here
at Disneyland. Statistics show that park lines are always shorter during the morning.
Take this advantage by
visiting the popular attractions and rides first. Create a game plan with your family and map out where you need
to be to hit the best and most popular rides first. With this plan you will be able to visit the minor
attractions during mid-day when all other people are busy lining up for the major rides.
Arrive
Later
Another way to avoid lines
would be by targeting the popular rides and attractions much later in your day. However, this strategy is only
recommended if you really can’t be there early. If you access the best rides during the evening hours, there
will be fewer lines to fall into on your part.
Dinner time is a good time to
go for the popular rides. You can expect that everyone else will be hitting the restaurants and having their
magical Disney dinner. Dinner time is also parallel to a majority of entertainment shows. You can expect that a
bulk of the park visitors will definitely be off somewhere else.
Take Advantage of the FastPass
Ticketing System
Everybody needs a FastPass.
Which is great for you since everyone gets a FastPass no matter what kind of ticket they purchased. Although it
entails a little planning, this system could really pay you big dividends especially with saving time.
To make the most out of this
system, your best bet would be reserving tickets early and targeting the more popular rides during the morning.
Another advantage is that you can get these tickets through phone or on the Internet. This type of ticket is
only offered for the most popular attractions and busiest rides.
You could get a FastPass
through the FastPass automated machines that can be found near the FastPass equipped rides. These machines are
fast and easy to use. Don’t expect to be placed in front of the line. The FastPass allows you to make a
reservation with the ride while you go do something else.
Take a Tour
Take a
